Born and raised in Macon, Dale is a husband, father, grandfather and a businessman. Dale was taught the value of hard work early in life by working multiple jobs while attending school. After completing his formal education at Macon State College, Dale entered the real estate business in 1975.
Dale has been in the real estate business for 46 years and he founded Washburn & Associates, which specializes in real estate brokerage and consulting, and The Dale Washburn School of Real Estate; Dale has been teaching real estate for 20 years. Dale is also the author of two real estate licensing textbooks and numerous continuing education courses.
Dale has been active in governmental affairs for many years. He has worked effectively to influence public policy at the local, state and federal levels relative to real estate issues and private property rights. Dale believes that less governmental regulation rather than more is always better. He also believes that our public officials must diligently guard against allowing the ever increasing tax burden, at every level of government, to continue to rise. Dale will combine his business knowledge, experience and integrity to fight for the families of Bibb and Monroe counties.
He has passed a number of bills out of the House and has successfully carried Senate Bills through The House. Six bills which he has carried have passed both House and Senate and have been signed by the Governor.
During 2021, he introduced and passed House Bill 270 and House Bill 280 and was able to get them passed in the Senate and signed into law by The Governor.
During 2022, House Bills 476 and House Bill 342 were passed by the Senate and signed into law by The Governor.
Generally, the legislation he has carried involves business and private property rights. The question he generally applies to any legislation is whether or it is good for Georgia’s families and for a positive environment for Georgia businesses.
Representative Washburn is a Pro Life conservative who believes that life is a gift from God and that it begins at conception. He will always vote to protect the lives of the unborn.
He believes that our citizens have the right to own guns to protect life, person and property. He will always resist any infringement on that right.
He also believes that less taxation and regulation is always best and that the right to own property includes reasonable liberty to use property as an owner sees fit.
Dale Washburn is honored to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives and works very hard to be effective.
